Export controls and sanctions are creating new compliance challenges for cross-border business. Wiktoria Kuczkowska will discuss the EU, French and Polish perspectives at Squair’s event in Paris.

The evolving framework of export controls and economic sanctions is creating increasing challenges for companies operating across borders. New EU rules, including Directive (EU) 2024/1226 on criminal offences and penalties for the violation of EU restrictive measures, uneven transposition in Member States, geopolitical tensions and changing enforcement priorities all require businesses to take a more structured and forward-looking approach to compliance.

On 28 May 2026, Wiktoria Kuczkowska, Coordinator of DZP’s French Desk and a member of the Regulatory Affairs, Legislation and Compliance Practice, will take part in the event “Navigating export controls and economic sanctions across borders – EU, French & Polish perspective”, organised by the French law firm Squair in Paris.

The meeting will bring together legal practitioners and business representatives to discuss the EU, French and Polish perspectives on sanctions compliance, export controls, governance and contractual risk management. The discussion will also focus on the upcoming transposition of EU rules and the practical consequences for companies conducting cross-border operations.

Wiktoria Kuczkowska will present the Polish perspective alongside Sophie Gabillot and Morgane Roussel, Partners at Squair.
