We are pleased to announce details of the Countdown to the GDPR: Mitigating the Potential Risk semminar, organised by Chambers and Partners in association with Meritas. During the seminar Bartosz Marcinkowski will highlight the topic "GDPR and the impact on countries outside the EU, including data transfer to the third countries (e.g. the USA, China or India)". The seminar will take place on 22 June, at 8:30 am at Institute of Directors in London.

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into force on 25th May 2018, will affect all businesses operating in Europe or targeting European customers. This seminar will help senior in-house lawyers, directors and data protection officers to discuss and prepare for the implementation of the new Regulation.

Through roundtable discussions, the seminar will look at the new data protection obligations posed by the GDPR and the main challenges it presents for businesses, organisations and institutions. Attendees will receive practical recommendations on how to overcome these challenges and ease the transition to the new data protection regime.

These discussions will be facilitated by leading data protection & data privacy lawyers from countries across Europe, helping attendees to consider and manage the risks posed by this new regulation, not only in the UK, but across Europe.

This event is open to in-house counsel and industry specific business professionals only. There is no cost to attend.
