30.09.2015

On 30 September, EDF Polska SA and Fundusz Inwestycji Infrastrukturalnych - Kapitałowy Fundusz Inwestycyjny Zamknięty Aktywów Niepublicznych managed by Polskie Inwestycje Rozwojowe SA signed an investment and shareholders agreement on the financing of construction of a new gas-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Toruń. As part of the project, a new gas-fired CHP plant with thermal power of 330 MWt and electric power of approx. 100 MWe will be constructed. The estimated project value is approx. PLN 550 million.

DZP lawyers advised EDF Polska in this transaction not only during project financing  negotiations with Polskie Inwestycje Rozwojowe SA but also upon execution of a number of contracts for construction works, which will facilitate the investment process considerably. DZP team comprised lawyers from the Infrastructure and Energy Practice: Tomasz Darowski, Partner, Emilia Dąbrowska, Senior Associate and Michał Przychoda, Associate.

The financing for the construction of the new CHP plant will enable implementation of the project indispensable to the town and its residents. The  new plant will ensure continuity of heat supplies to the residents of Toruń in a long-tem perspective. In addition, as the new plant meets new strict European air emission standards, air quality will also improve. Construction of the new gas-fired CHP plant will contribute to the improvement of living conditions for the residents of Toruń, and thus to the increased attractiveness and social competitiveness of the town and its surroundings.
