Nokia and Infracapital will provide internet in under-developed areas

26.06.2017

We advised Infracapital, which is the infrastructure part of M&G Investment, on a joint venture with Nokia. The companies won a tender for a project to build and maintain fibre optic networks providing internet access in regions in Poland with the least developed IT structures. The companies will now be responsible for supplying modern telecommunications connections in 13 regions.

The project is part of the Digital Poland 2014-2020 programme and, as a component of Digital Agenda for Europe 2020 initiatives, is partially funded by the European Union. The cost of the undertaking is expected to be approx. EUR 300 million.

The DZP lawyers supporting Infracapital were Bartosz Marcinkowski, project leader, Maciej CiszkiewiczTomasz Darowski and Jerzy Sawicki and the law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. Baker McKenzie provided support to the joint venture company and Nokia.
