Success for DZP and Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights in District Court for Warsaw-Śródmieście

DZP and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights have won at first instance a case in which they represented an employee of a key State Treasury company. In 2016, she was dismissed from her job for reporting irregularities and criticising her employer.

Of particular importance in this multifaceted case was the protection of the civil liberties of an employee who undertakes to defend his or her colleagues and who has the right to criticise the employer. The District Court for Warsaw-Śródmieście agreed with the allegations raised by DZP and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights that the employee's dismissal was inadmissible.

DZP lawyer Bogusław Kapłon, Partner and Head of the Labour and Social Security Law Practice, was involved in this pro bono case.
