What's new at DZP?
DZP has advised the winning consortium of Aldesa Construcciones Polska (leader), Aldesa Construcciones and Aeronaval de Construcciones Instalaciones during a procedure conducted by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) for the creation of a Regional Implementation Project in the area of the S6 and S7 expressways in Pomorskie and Warminsko-Mazurskie voivodships and a Traffic Management Centre in Dworek.
On 18 June 2021, representatives of the winning consortium signed a contract with the GDDKiA for a traffic control system valued at over PLN 178 million.
The Regional Implementation Project is to cover approximately 31 km of the S6 expressway and 200 km of the S7 expressway. Along the routes there will be, among other things, cameras to take pictures of the roads and to monitor travel time, variable message signs used to give drivers up-to-date information, meteorological stations, stations to measure traffic and to ensure the detection of traffic incidents, such as congestion, sudden changes in traffic conditions and vehicles driving against the traffic. The Project also envisages the construction of a suitably equipped Traffic Management Centre in Dworek on the S7. Thanks to efficient traffic management on expressways, the system will increase traffic safety and flow.
The Project is being developed within the National System for Managing Road Traffic on the TEN-T Network Stage I, which has received funding of over EUR 123 million from the EU under the Connecting Europe Facility. It is being carried out under the supervision of the European Commission, through the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).
