Tomasz Darowski, Head of Defence and Space Industry Team and Soo Youn Kim, Co-Head of the Korean Desk will provide insights into evolving European defence landscape.
The Korea Defense Industry Association (KDIA) and Domański Zakrzewski Palinka (DZP), one of Poland’s leading independent law firms, are pleased to invite Korean defence and technology companies to a dedicated seminar on the rapidly evolving European defence landscape, with a particular focus on Poland - one of the most dynamic and strategically significant markets in the EU.
As Europe transitions from emergency procurement to long‑term structural reforms under the “ReArm Europe” initiative, the EU is taking concrete steps to build a unified European Defence Technological and Industrial Base (EDTIB). These changes open new opportunities for global suppliers, including Korean companies seeking to strengthen their presence in Europe.
During the seminar, DZP’s experts – Tomasz Darowski, Partner, Head of the Defence and Space Industry Team and Soo Youn Kim, Co-Head of the Korean Desk - will provide practical insights into:
- The EU’s new strategic architecture for defence and the implications of the ReArm Europe plan.
- Key financing instruments such as SAFE and EDIP, including mechanisms supporting joint procurement by EU Member States.
- Market-entry considerations for non EU suppliers, including Europeanisation/localisation requirements.
- Effective strategies for establishing a sustainable presence in Europe, from creating subsidiaries to technology transfers and joint ventures.
- Current developments and investment opportunities in the Polish defence sector: from industrial programmes and infrastructure projects to innovation, start ups and dual use technologies.
- Europe’s new Industrial Accelerator Act and its role in the reindustrialisation of the defence sector.
The seminar will be held on 28 April from 13:00 to 15:20 at KDIA’s office in Seoul.
The seminar will be held in English. Although simultaneous interpretation will not be officially provided during the seminar, interpretation support will be available during the Q&A session if needed.
