Among the victims were: Vice-Marshalls of the Polish Sejm Jerzy Szmajdziński and Krzysztof Putra, Vice-Marshall of the Polish Senate Krystyna Bochenek, Human Rights Ombudsman Janusz Kochanowski, President of the National Bank of Poland Sławomir Skrzypek, renowned Polish parliamentarians, representatives of the Council of Minister, central government and the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, the Institution of National Remembrance, the heads of the Polish Armed Forces, the Polish Olympic Committee, representatives of the Katyń organisation, families of the officers murdered in Katyń, officials of the Government Protection Bureau and the plane’s crew.
Some of the victims were from the legal environment: the President of the Supreme Council of Advocates Joanna Agacka-Indecka, and Editor-in-Chief of the Polish advocates’ monthly "Palestra" - Stanisław Mikke.
