On 12 June in Rzeszow, EME Aero sp. z o.o. and Warbud S.A. signed a contract to construct a factory to renovate, service and repair jet engines manufactured by the US company Pratt&Whitney (these engines are used in, e.g. Airbus A320neo and Bombardier CS aircraft). The contract signing is the outcome of a tender lasting several months in which some of the biggest construction companies on the Polish market participated.
EME Aero sp. z o.o., i.e. the investor, was advised by a team of experts headed by Tomasz Darowski, Partner in the Infrastructure & Energy Practice. Our advice included preparing the draft construction contract and representing the company in negotiations and contract conclusion.
EME Aero sp. z o.o. was set up as a result of an agreement concluded on 4 December 2017 between the German manufacturer of power units for military and civil aviation – MTU Aero Engines AG from Munich – and the biggest carrier – Lufthansa Technik AG.
The advice on conclusion of the joint venture between MTU Aero Engines AG and Lufthansa Technik AG was rendered by experts in the Infrastructure & Energy Practice – Marcin Krakowiak, Partner, and Krzysztof Fliszkiewicz, Senior Associate.
Each partner in the company holds 50% of shares and the total amount of joint investments to 2020 is EUR 150 million.
